Aikijo

Aikijo (合気杖), is the name given specifically to the set of staff techniques, practised according to the principles of aikido according to the teachings of Ueshiba osensei and further developed by Saito sensei and Tada sensei. [source Wikipedia]

38 jo kata Tada sensei

Below is a description of the 38 jo kata of Tada sensei. The version below is the generic solo version which can be altered slightly into a version A and B for practice with a partner. Note in the tabel below, that position (hanmi) and hands (te) are a result of the previous movement. Also note that when hands start in tekubi gaeshi and go directly to yuji musubi, a change of hands is indicated.
